Marilou Dolianiti
Marilou Dolianiti was born and raised in Corfu. By the time she had completed her studies at the University of Athens, School of Law. She had a deeper dream, a keen interest in Architecture. Therefore, she simultaneously started a three year course for her studies in Interior Architecture at A.T.E.S. She bestirs herself autonomously, having her own office of interior and exterior design, taking on assigned projects ranging from technical studies to the actual implementation of the projects (design, consulting, recommendations regarding the materials needed and in addition the overall supervision of projects including both the design and decoration fields, which are her points of interest).
She has been working in Greece and abroad for over 21 years creating spaces and objects with prerequisite aesthetics, functionality, all with the awareness of cost and needs of each client. She has specialized in small and large touristic hotel units and any kind of commercial premises, while she was decorating many residential properties with different construction style. She participated in the shoe fashion exhibition of Milan in September 2005, where she created two fashion kiosks. At the 1995 Exhibition of Tour Operators in London she was responsible for designing the Corfu Pavilion, as well as in various other exhibitions such as (EXPRO, XENIA, HORECA).She was a key figure in designing kiosks and booths for the company KYNIGAKI, which has a large client base for hotel furniture where many of their pieces are designed by her.
Her designs, invest in innovation by making continuous market research to keep herself u to date with new materials. With respect to the time and money of each client she makes sure to follow the time schedule foreseen for each project that with speed and accuracy along with the coordinated collaboration of her partners. The final extract from her overall work, in combination with the experience, aesthetics and passion for creation is reflected uniquely in the completion of each assigned project. She has traveled for personal and professional reasons in many parts of the world. The reason is her passion for other cultures, diverse communities, unique and innovative construction techniques. From these journeys she collects images, information and inspiration for her works. Because like she says ... these trips is the dowry of her mind!
